Höllgrotten Baar

In the heart of the wildly romantic Lorzentobel you will find the “Höllgrotten” stalactite caves of Baar.
The caves are embellished with fascinating stalactite formations: small lakes, stalagmites and stalactites in a diverse array of colors create a breathtaking atmosphere.
Formed over thousands of years by calciferous springs, Baar’s Höllgrotten were discovered while mining for tuff stone at the end of the 19th century. Today, this magical underground kingdom is lit by electricity, and the caves are well connected with each other by paths.
